Distribution of Selected Species of Threatened Plants in Wielkopolska

Abstract:

This study presents the distribution of selected species of threatened plants in Wielkopolska. They constitute a representative group from the „red list” of vascular plants of this region, which in total contains 530 taxons. The set of cartograms presented shows examples of species from various threat categories (E, V, R), geographical and historical as well as sociological and ecological groups. The study takes into account the historic data (starting with the early 19th century) and documents the present distribution of vascular plant species particularly important for keeping the natural level of biological diversity in Western Poland.
